Built across the Karapuzha River surrounding with lush greenery, the Karapuzha Dam is one among the biggest earth dams in India and a delightful place for the tourists. The construction work of the Dam was started in 1977 and it was completed in 2004. This man-made marvel welcomes its guests with its scenic environment, streaming waters, leafy islands and swamped hills. It offers a marvelous place to unwind and relax amidst the scenic natural environment. A beautiful aquarium occupies the area around the dam which was constructed by the tourism department and is definitely worth a visit. One can enjoy here boating, canoeing and nature walk.
