Sivagiri Mutt is a well-known holy destination and a pilgrimage site that stands on the hillock of Sivagiri in Varkala, Thiruvananthapuram district. This ashram was built in the year 1904 by the renowned savant and social reformer, Sree Narayan Guru. The headquarters of the Sree Narayana Dharma Sangham lies here which was built by the disciples and followers of Sree Narayana Guru. The Sivagiri Mutt houses a temple dedicated to Goddess Sharda (Saraswathi). It is believed that Sree Narayana Guru breathed his last near this temple and a tomb was built to commemorate his death. Several pilgrims from India and abroad visit Sivagiri Mutt every year
