The Neelakurinji, a beautiful blue color flower that is known to blossom once in twelve years is a specialty in the hills of Kerala. Neelakurinji is known to be seen in abundant at the Shola forest is the derivation for the name of the Nilgiris Mountain. Munnar is a hill station in Kerala where the Neelakurinji is seen to grow in abundant. The Neelakurinji is in blossom in 2018 and you can again witness the blossoming in 2030. To reach the region where the flowers bloom you will have to hike over mountainous path. After the huff and puff of the exercise of climbing up the mountain you will be greeted by a sea of blue flowers that carpet the area till the horizon. The spectacular sight from the mountain along with the Neelakurinji will make you not want to leave the place till the flowers die.
