The Aazhimala Shiva temple is a Hindu temple dedicated to the worship of Lord Shiva. Located on the sandy shores of the Arabian Sea, the Aazhimala Shiva temple is near Poovar at Kazhivoor. Attracting a lot of devotees who throng to the temple, the Aazhimala Shiva temple has fascinated visitors for decades. Aazhi means Sea and Mala refers to Hills. The temple is named so since it is situated on the shores of the Araban Sea in a small raised land. Every Tuesday devotees flock to the temple with a lamp that is lit out of a lemon and float it on the sea. This spectacular sight is a breath taking wonder that leaves you spell bound.
