Dates back to five centuries, the Thirunkkara Mahadeva Temple was constructed by the native king of Thekkumkoor. This temple is a perfect exemplar of typical South Indian architecture. The paintings and murals that depict stories of Hindu mythology are the treasures of this 500-year-old temple. The temple has a very attractive two-storeyed Sreekovil and its golden Finial makes it more attractive. The walls of the temple and its innermost sanctum are decorated with impressive images and beautiful paintings of epic characters from the Hindu mythological era. There is a small recently built Ganapathy Temple at the entrance of Thirunakkara Mahadeva Temple which is also a holy shrine.
