Kannur - Aaralam Wildlife Sanctuary

The Aaralam Wildlife Sanctuary is beautifully placed in a forested highland on the slopes of the Western Ghats and it is the northernmost wildlife sanctuary of Kerala which is established in the year 1984. This protected area has numerous hill ranges which has an elevation between 50m to 1145m. So, trekking in this hilly ranges will be a delightful experience and requires high stamina because of its high elevation. You can spot a wide variety of butterflies during the trek. The Aaralam Wildlife Sanctuary is blessed with a diverse variety of flora and fauna. Elephants, leopards, jungle cats, boar, deer, bison, langurs, and different varieties of squirrels are the wild residents of this sanctuary.
