Idukki - Kulamavu Dam

Constructed across Muvattupuzha, the Malankara Dam is a gravity Dam mainly built for irrigation purposes. There is an artificial lake, called the Malankara Lake that spreads over 11 Km. This artificial lake is an ideal picnic spot and is considered ideal for fishing and boating. A lot of tourists visit this spot to enjoy the beauty of the Reservoir as well as to take a memorable boat trip. The Kulamavu Dam is open to tourists round the year, unlike the Idukki and Cheruthoni dams.
