Situated amidst forest glade, the Mannarasala Nagaraja temple is an internationally renowned pilgrimage centre dedicated to the Nagaraja or the serpent gods. It is one of the largest Nagaraja Temples in the state of Kerala. The most unusual factor about this temple is that the puja and other rituals of this temple are done by a woman. The priestess of this temple is known as "Mannarasala Amma". And she is the oldest member of the Brahmin family who serves the temple. The most popular offering of this temple is the Uruli Kamazhthal where many childless couples do this offering to seek blessings of the Nagaraja for children.
