Alleppey - Bay Island Driftwood Museum

Alleppey - Bay Island Driftwood Museum

Bay Island Driftwood Museum is a rare museum, founded by a school-teacher in Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Mrs. Raji Punnoose, which treasures unique collection of driftwood articles. The innovative modern art techniques deployed to design various kinds of root and tree-trunk sculptures bring fame to this museum. Some of the driftwood articles are carved in the shape of animals, birds, fishes, amphibians and reptiles which are amazing. Another interesting factor is that these driftwoods were collected from the Andaman and Nicobar Islands. The Bay Island Driftwood Museum has been listed in the Limca Books of Records because of its interesting and expansive techniques of curation.
