Dating back to 150 years, the red and white striped Alleppey Lighthouse is one of the oldest lighthouses on the south-west coast of India and a well-known tourist destination in Kerala. Constructed using laterite stones and teak, this 30-meter-tall lighthouse serves as the path guider for guiding the sailors during the night. The platform at the top of the lighthouse can accommodate 20 to 25 people at a time where you can enjoy the panoramic view of the sea and the surrounding regions of Alleppey. And you can reach the platform through 100 steep wooden steps. The lovely sight of the mighty sun kissing the blue waters of the Arabian Sea from the lighthouse is awe-inspiring
